I’ve decided to finally get around to blogging about The Proposal.
Yes, K and I are now engaged to be married and it is decidedly the most wonderful feeling in the world. It happened a while back during the early leg of our Europe trip in Vienna, but I didn’t have the time or energy to blog and something as special as this to me ..
K asked me on the 5th of June, at the Schonbrunn Summer Palace in Vienna, to be his wife, and more than a month later, I’m still reeling and I still get that ridiculous happy smile on my face just thinking about it.
The proposal itself came as an absolute surprise.
I had an inkling that he was going to ask at some point during the trip because I’d been hinting (jokingly) about it for a while and he’d already asked my parents for their approval. But I had been expecting something kitschy like the Eiffel Tower or something very predictable like Disneyland, but the Summer Palace was absolutely perfect. =)
K and my friends had been behaving weirdly all that morning, telling me to wear whatever made me feel the prettiest, and Kinny had this sneaky smile ^^ the whole morning.
But never in my remotest imagination did I expect to be proposed to! It was a wonderful sunny day with a little wind, and the palaces were exceptionally beautiful, with the flowers in full bloom.
And when all of us went into a little corner, someone gave a signal when I was getting my picture taken, and I turned around to see K fumbling on one knee.. and I.. ran away. From shock. Hahahah! It was hilarious! Just wait till I’ve got the video up, you have to see it to believe it. =)
Anyways, I came back (obviously) and I could only keep staring into his eyes as he asked me if I would like to spend the rest of my life with him (the rest is private, lol) and of course, my answer was YES, YES, AND YES. =)
I’d been expecting just a simple, humble solitaire so I was half horrified, half ecstatic when I saw how much bigger it was from what I expected – and no, Tiffany’s doesn’t come with a pink rose, it was folded by K to put in the box because the first flowers he gave me were pink ribbon roses ^^
Champagne (warm) to celebrate but I was deliriously happy already, no need bubbly.
And we took some pictures to capture the moment, these are my favourites. I didn’t realize how much the both of us were glowing in the pictures until I looked at them afterwards =) My favourite! I still feel sad I couldn’t keep or dry the flowers, they were so beautiful!
After climbing to up to the arch at the top of the Schonbrunn Palace.
=) are you already wincing from
the bliss overload?
We headed down to Sacher Hotel to treat the rest to some Sacher torte and some hot chocolate after that to thank them for everything, and it was the perfect ending to a perfect day.
It’s only just begun, and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you, K =) I love you!
