Little Bow Girl

Wife, Mama to Sophie Rose, Full Time Day Dreamer

Saturday afternoon, the weather was just beautiful ! C and I decided to organise a playdate for our dogs, my Benjy and her super handsome Shiba Inu, Hachi !

I packed a quick picnic and we set out around 3 pm for Tanjong Beach at Sentosa, our favourite dog friendly beach.

It’s always important to dress comfy for a sweaty day out in the sun with your dogs, so I thought it would be a great time to put on my newly purchased Uniqlo x Laduree puff sleeved t-shirts !

This St Honore one is the cutest thing ! It’s got my favourite pastry on it, pink polka dots, and girly puffed sleeves – what’s not to love !

Paired it with my ratty lilac shorts for extreme cotton comfort. 🙂

As you can see, I like being a dork. Especially when I’m on a post-scone sugar high and slightly panicky from all the calories recently imbibed.

We met up with C, J and H !

That’s Hachi’s backpack – and the amazing thing is, he doesn’t mind carrying his own stuff around. He’s 10 this year, but still very handsome and quite active. C and J rescued him from SPCA a year or two back and now the three of them are an inseparable family. 🙂

I’d like to have said that Hachi and Benjy got along, and it wasn’t like they didn’t like each other, just that their attention was focused completely on us (their parents) and food. -_- I think this is what happens when you’ve got yourself a furkid with a single-child syndrome.

And since we were on food, here’s the picnic I packed !

Whipped up in 20 minutes with the help of my sous chef, K, who basically just stirred carrots around in a pan and shelled edamame while complaining woefully about being henpecked. Real Men Cook okay !

From left:

Roasted Baby Portobello Mushrooms with Bacon (so addictive)

My Korean Pasta Salad, which was crazy refreshing and perfect for the weather. Just tossed Korean Mayo with Hello Kitty spelt pasta, flaked surimi (crab stick), strawberries, Taiwan Muscat oranges, cucumber cubes, apples, fresh Korean pear and boiled pumpkin. K absolutely loves this and scarfs down large bowls at a time when he thinks I’m not looking then blames Benjy.

Shabu Pork Avocado Sesame Salad – My own recipe, which I can share if you guys want ! It’s a cold meat salad that we eat with Pita and J said it was amazing !

Japchae (Korean glass noodles) made healthy with carrots and edamame

Fresh Korean ddalgi (strawberries) from Claire !

Love this family photo, hate the eyebags.

The sun soon got the better of us, since we are all generally tan-fearing, SPF toting Asians, and we took the doglets on a walk along the beach to our regular haunt, Bora Bora, for some human refreshment.

Pina Coladas, Daiquiris, Nachos with Cheese, Guac and Salsa – the life ! The doggies even got hand fed grilled salmon by a super doting J !

We just hung around, chatted, and enjoyed our cold drinks and ice creams. I think we’ve gotten J and C hooked onto our pseudo hippy dog-lovin’ lifestyle.

The dogs in question:

Enjoying dem super cute Rainbow Bones I bought in San Francisco from a Pet Cafe called “Le Beastro” (squirms in cheesy delight)

All in all, a wonderful day. We all need some sunshine and fresh air to keep going in this dog’s (pun unintended) life.
