Hi everyone !

It’s 2014 and I’ve heard some people complaining of festive fatigue already – Christmas, New Year’s, and then Lunar New Year coming up in just three weeks leaves one with very little room (and $$) to spread it all out.

Far from feeling any kind of “fatigue”, however, I am so sad to see the Christmas season go ! For one, it meant leaving my family in HKG and having to get back to reality (SG) for at least the next six months ! Yes, I am officially grounded and can no longer fly on a plane even if I suffer from an intense yearning to leave the country.

We are 28 weeks ! Just into the final trimester with 12 weeks to go (contrary to popular belief, human gestation is really 10, and not 9 months)

It’s been pretty peachy for me so far through the entire second trimester – lots of energy, no breakouts, significantly less nausea, generally limited body aches – but already I can feel the exhaustion of the 3rd trimester starting to work its way in as my body gets too heavy for my feet to handle. 😦 I’ve already put on 12+ kg in the past 6 months which is on the high side and baby is only 1.2 kg (gulp, 10 per cent of my weight gain)

That, and those moments I look into the mirror and realize that my thigh gap is no longer existent, I cannot wrap my first and middle fingers as far up my arm as I used to, and, well, I’m just round all over. Even my legs, which have so far maintained their relative slenderness, have gone under thanks to severe water retention – I am now a Repetto 39.5 up one WHOLE SIZE from 38.5 !

On a brighter note, what’s amazing about being so far along is that .. well .. just that we’re this much close to seeing our much loved, much longed for little Sophie.

She’s getting real big now, along the lines of a whopping 16 inches from head to toe and her kicks are hard enough to wake me up (and send me running for the loo). Her Daddy has also felt her kick for the first time and the moment was nothing short of magical. πŸ™‚

We got these shots from a family photoshoot we did at my parents’ place in HKG and although I wince at my fat arms and round face, there’s little that can disguise how excited and happy we are (not to mention terrified, in K’s case) to be parents soon !

That’s my update on my pregnancy for Month 7 ! Can’t wait for my next Ultra Sound πŸ™‚

Will update my blog soon on the highlights of my trip back and THE FREAKING AMAZING CLARISONIC MIA 2 which has been an absolute life saver and also (besides pregnancy) the reason why all my HKG photos feature unreal glowy skin.

Hope you all had a great festive season and Happy New Year !

xx
