I haven’t been blogging as regularly as usual and there are several reasons why !
- Sophie is getting a lot more demanding – she sleeps a lot less and loves to play. And when she wants to play, she squeaks, giggles and coos in the most adorable way possible. Blogging vs Playing with Sophie = no contest, she wins.
- I’m starting to take charge again around the house. My helper, who has been with my family for 26 years, is amazing. She does the marketing, helps me with Sophie, does the housework, even dotes on Benjy. However, she is getting older and cannot handle all this by herself. I’ve taken over the marketing, grocery shopping, and the packing/laundering of Sophie’s baby stuff to help her out. You’d be amazed at how much mess one baby produces in a day !
- I’m getting out a lot more – I’ve started having a few hours of just-me time a week, usually when I go out for groceries I treat myself to tea and a slice of cake as well as one uninterrupted hour with my KOBO e-reader just to recharge, regenerate. I can’t emphasize how important this time is to me now – it definitely makes me feel ready to deal with Sophie all over again instead of feeling perpetually harrassed, and frustrated at the thought of spending 24 hours with her.
- Here’s the most exciting reason of all – planning for our Sydney holiday next month, aka Sophie’s first overseas trip! I’m not sure if we have bitten off more than we can chew, because on top of it being a 7-hour flight, it will also be winter-time there. But I am nothing if not a control freak and for weeks now we have been slowly but steadily buying her winter clothing that can double up as everyday wear. Its an exacting science, it is, deciding exactly what sizes to get to make your money’s worth and making sure every piece can be matched with another outfit to give it extra mileage. Factor in the fact that babies outgrow their clothes so fast, planning Sophie’s winter wardrobe has been a very time-consuming feat indeed.
Here are the fruits of our labour so far !
Yes, sadly I have had to resort to watermarking my photos because some – excuse my french – idiots have been ripping photos off my IG and also my blog and posting them on baby fashion websites. They even use Sophie’s photos ! And I’ve actually seen one appear on Pinterest. I love that people share the same passion for dressing up babies but, please credit ! And more importantly, please ask me permission first so I won’t get a rude shock. I don’t bite !
Hope you guys love these outfits as much as K and I did ! Can’t wait to actually see her in them 🙂
